Despite the small size, Xiaolin is filled with passionate children and their families welcome us with open arms as we return each year. DONGAO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Home to the Atayal tribe in Taiwan, Dongao is located near the picturesque mountains and oceans of Yilan. Dongao Elementary School has been a partner school to PLG since 2017! The children of Dongao Elementary School are full of energy, ready to learn, and never cease to amaze the volunteer teachers with their liveliness and spirit. The kids also have a unique talent, archery, and the archery team at school has participated in many competitions overseas. The close-knit community of Dongao also gather every year to make and sell smoked flying fish, in which proceeds go towards the talented archery team at Dongao Elementary.… to the website
CHISHANG JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Famous for the harvest of rice, the agriculturally rich land of Chishang attracts visitors from all over the world. Chishang Junior High School began their partnership with us in 2018! Besides being a destination of our summer program, we also work with the children through our STEAM Weekend program over the semester. Hualien dowmung Elementary school
Sat in Xiulin, Hualien, Dowmung Elementary School accommodates students mainly from Dowmung and Ibuh Village. The school has gained recognition for its students' diverse talents, such as being the champion team at the 2022 Nationwide Online Mini-thesis Contest and having outstanding performances at the 19th Nationwide Presidential Tournament of Taekwondo. Students engage in community events, and participate in the highly praised “Learning from the Mountains,” enabling them to understand theirs and others’ cultures.
